Shrove Tuesday 2021, otherwise known as pancake day is coming up on 16th February. This day is a time to be using up your rich ingredients, traditionally this meant egg and milk, hence why we make pancakes. But what we’re hearing is that this is a day to be extravagant with the ingredients you use. Just because you’re starting with a base of a simple pancake, does not mean you have to keep the whole dish simple… Dare you be bold this Shrove Tuesday?
Pancakes are an extremely versatile food so there’s plenty of options to ‘zhoosh up’ your plate on this very special Tuesday; keep to a classic crepe base, try the more filling fluffy American pancakes, perfect the drop on a drop scone or even try your hand at something a world away from the pancakes of your childhood with the tricky Japanese style souffle pancake.
So what we’re trying to say is, don’t go down the ‘safe’ route this Pancake Day. Do something delicious, something bold, to show off your skills and get the tastebuds zinging.
If you’re planning on being brave in the kitchen we want to be there to support you. We’ve spent decades creating innovative products to reduce those kitchen disasters like burnt on food and overcooked dishes, and just enable you to cook fearlessly!
