If you’re tired of spending too much time cleaning your pans after cooking, it could be time to invest in a new non-stick pan. Not only do they help you to cook with creativity and confidence but non-stick pans are always a convenient, safe and versatile addition to any kitchen.

When it comes down to finding the right non-stick pan, you’ll quickly notice all the most innovative features on the market in our outstanding selection of Circulon non-stick cookware. Read on to find out everything that you need to know about non-stick pans to help you to make a suitable, informed choice, regardless of your level of expertise in the kitchen.

How do you use a non-stick pan?

From frying pans to saucepans and sauté pans, cookware with a non-stick coating can be used in almost exactly the same way as their traditional iron or steel counterparts. Whether you’re pan-frying tender salmon fillets or flipping a tasty omelette, there’s no need to alter your favourite recipes. However, there are a couple of things to bear in mind if you’re new to cooking with a non-stick pan.

Firstly, only the Circulon Steelshield™ range is suitable for use with metal utensils. For any of our other excellent non-stick pans, we’d recommend using wooden or plastic utensils to stir, shake and lift your ingredients with while they’re cooking.

Secondly, when cleaning, you should always try to avoid using scouring pads, steel wool, hard-bristled brushes and other abrasive materials on your non-stick pan to avoid scratching the surface, which could jeopardise its performance.

Are non-stick pans safe?

You can cook in confidence with our range of durable, world-renowned PFOA-free cookware. Our non-stick pans are manufactured without any exposure to any toxic chemicals, including perfluorooctanoic acid, known as PFOA. The wellbeing and safety of our customers is always our priority, so that’s why we’re proud to stock market-leading products guaranteed to protect your health.

In the past, manufacturing methods used for non-stick pans have raised safety concerns. Those concerns were notably the result of PFOA, previously typically used in non-stick coatings. Even though PFOA was mostly burnt off during production, small traces have since been found to carry health implications. Cooking with older pots and pans containing PFOA is therefore deemed harmful.

Why choose a Circulon non-stick pan?

Circulon’s unique Hi-Low non-stick system works with pioneering technology to ensure an impressively long-lasting non-stick coating. A raised, ridge-like circular interior doubles the surface area covered by our PFOA-free non-stick coating, providing efficient cooking solutions with unprecedented durability.

How do you clean a non-stick pan?

Knowing how to clean a non-stick pan properly will ensure that it stays pristine for as long as possible, offering premium performance time after time. Even though you can put non-stick pans in the dishwasher, we recommend washing your non-stick pans carefully by hand for minimal abrasion.

It’s a good idea to wait for your pans to cool down before you start cleaning them. Fill a bowl with warm, soapy water and softly clean around the pan in a circular motion with a nylon sponge or brush. Our superior non-stick coating makes cleaning almost effortless, so there’s no need to scrub too hard.

We understand, however, that accidents can happen in the kitchen. We hope that you’ll never need to but it’s useful to learn how to clean a burnt non-stick pan. To tackle stubborn deposits, we suggest leaving your pan to soak with boiling water and biological soap powder for about 30 minutes.
